Request for proposal for Measles Rapid Diagnostic Test Deployment Pilot Study

The requirement involves multiple key activities to be completed in phases. Implementation of Phase II is subject to the successful completion of Phase I and the availability of a measles IgM RDT recommended for use on an interim basis by the WHO Global Measles Rubella Laboratory Network (GMRLN) (Annex C). Currently, at least one measles IgM RDT is expected to be recommended for use on an interim basis by GMRLN by the end of the 1st quarter of 2024. Key activities include: Phase I – Pilot deployment project planning and preparation In coordination with WHO and the Ministry of Health of a country eligible for Gavi new vaccine support with at least 80% coverage with a first dose of measles containing vaccine, identify districts for conducting an assessment of use of measles IgM RDTs to determine and monitor measles incidence.1 Countries that have conducted or are planning subnational preventive measles supplemental immunization activities would be ideal. This assessment should include multiple areas to allow comparative assessments of different approaches to deploying measles IgM RDTs.
